10 Reasons Granbury ISD Does NOT need TASB(Texas Association of School Boards)
1. Total Independence – Districts don’t have to join any group.
2. Free Market Options – Shop for insurance, legal, and policy services.
3. Better Alternatives – Lower costs, trustee-focused.
4. Political Agenda – Focus on divisive issues over education.
5. Parents Sidelined – Less voice in how schools are run.
6. “Team of 8” Undermines Trustees – Weakens elected board authority.
7. Lack of Transparency – Financial practices and conflicts questioned.
8. Monopoly Mindset – Acting like the only option for decades.
9. Poor Service – Slow responses, limited support.
10. Rising Costs – Insurance and service fees are out of order with market rates.
This is just the beginning of MUCH needed change for districts across Texas
Let’s live what INDEPENDENT means in ISD
The I in ISD means Independent — not TASB-dependent
Independent means free to choose — policies, services, and direction
Independent = Self-Governed. Trustees, not TASB, lead the district
I is for Independent. Local control, local voice, local choice
An ISD should be Independent, not tied down
Standing against establishment mindset that brought low reading scores across the nation and out of control spending.
